Karloff left the band in and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Meighan left the band in July Their music has won them several awards and recognition in the media, including a Brit Award in for Best British Group, and their live performances have received praise, the most notable of which was their appearance as headliners at the Glastonbury Festival.

I like this album just for these simple reasons, it puts me in a good mood and it makes me smile. The final 2 tracks are really strong. Garret "Jacknife" Lee was originally slated to produce the album on the recommendation of the record label, however, it did not work out because the band felt he was changing their music too much.
Kasabian subsequently decided to produce the album themselves, with help from Jim Abbiss. In early , the working title of the album was Test Transmission. The iconic masked man or "ultraface" logo that appears on nearly all early Kasabian releases was created by the band and went through a few versions until the final album art was designed by Simon Corkin. It has been speculated that Chris wearing a scarf over his face on the cover of West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum is a nod to the logo. The album was preceded by two limited edition singles, a demo version of Processed Beats and Reason Is Treason , the latter featuring the Jacknife Lee mix of the song.
The first widespread single release and subsequent chart success was Club Foot on 17 May , followed by L. Lost Souls Forever on 9 August Kasabian continued to play festivals throughout the summer, supported the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Kiev in July , and finished the tour with their headline performances at Reading and Leeds Festival in August.
Two one-off gigs in Moscow and Brussels were later added in November. He was replaced by Tim Carter, who already had some history with the band, having worked as an engineer and assistant to Dan the Automator on West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum and Velociraptor!
Following a handful of gigs and festival appearances throughout the first half of the year, Kasabian officially finished their tour on 29 June with a headline performance at Hard Rock Calling, the first ever festival held in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. In November it was announced that the band had been working on material for their next album since May.
Throughout April the tracklisting for was revealed on Kasabian's official Instagram account, following Tom and Serge painting the album's at the time unannounced title on a wall in London. Preceded by warm up gigs in France, Ireland and Scotland and the single Eez-Eh , was released on 9 June and became the band's fourth consecutive 1 album.
The second single off the album, Bumblebeee , was released on 3 August On 5 September the band performed their debut album in its entirety at iTunes Festival to mark the tenth anniversary of its release. In March , Kasabian returned to South America for the first time since having to cancel several gigs there in due to illness. Kasabian announced that they were recording their sixth album in spring It was initially slated to be released in autumn [20] but was delayed until May for unknown reasons.
More European gigs followed in autumn, as well as a UK and Ireland arena tour at the end of the year. After playing mainly festival during summer, they finished the tour in September with three gigs in South America. On 6 July Kasabian announced the departure of Tom Meighan after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his partner. The remaining members of Kasabian continued with Serge as the only frontman. In October and November they played a number of small venues in the UK, where they were joined by Robert Harvey of The Music on second guitar, keyboards and backing vocals.
