Don't get me wrong, I still love the setting and character creation, that's my avatar looks the way she looks like, but the pvp in Aion is just massive playground for gankers and cheaters that little to no redeeming qualities. Established players are about invincible, so new players will not earn the rank necessary to aquire better PVP gear.
Cheaters are everywhere and hardly ever punished. High level campagin quests often can't be completed due to ganking. The community is horrible too on most servers, as just that pvp system attracts By level 40 you're a soldier if you keep on going.
I quit at 46 after forcing the last three or so levels out of me approx. While normally you might look past this and think it'll all be better at endgame, in Aion's case There's no endgame. It's literally exactly the same stuff as what you've been doing on the way to 50, and in many ways there's even less to do. Aion was released a good year or two too early, which is extremely unfortunate as early game is promising and engaging Even though I was eagerly awaiting this MMO it turned out to be a bitter disapointment.
Overall the game just seems like another endless grind similar to lineage or even wow. Pvp doesnt happen till 25 so that also killed it for me. Flying is tedious and you are only aloud to fly in certian areas which made it very annoying to get around. Fighting was far to prolonged and difficult which Even though I was eagerly awaiting this MMO it turned out to be a bitter disapointment.
Fighting was far to prolonged and difficult which for some could be a good thing but i just found it boring and depressing when you die to something only a few levels higher than you. Quests were few and far between at lower levels and the game just didnt deliver anything that has not been seen before. Aion is literally nothing more than grinding. There is hardly anything in it that I would call a game.
You grind, grind and grind, and what do you get out of it? You don't get equipment; quests almost never give you any, drops are pretty rare especially weapons , and crafting armor requires such epic, ungodly and preposterous amounts of grinding that you'll never make Aion is literally nothing more than grinding. You don't get equipment; quests almost never give you any, drops are pretty rare especially weapons , and crafting armor requires such epic, ungodly and preposterous amounts of grinding that you'll never make anything.
Combat is utterly boring and it takes way too long to kill a single mob which is usually followed by a rest period becaus you'll take so much damage , and leveling up is a very slow process as well. With no equipment or interesting abilities to look forward to, what is the point of all that grinding?
The much hyped flying ability is useless as well, because there are few areas where you can use it and even then for a very short period of time. This isn't a game, this is a job. A job that doesn't pay you anything in any way. Pros: - Good graphics - Characters can fly in some areas Cons: - Not nearly enough PvE content - No brains needed for the skillbar arrangement. Just collect the skills for the combo and use it. Well it's almost absent and generally not the friendliest.
Overall - A generous 4. Honestly, I was hoping so badly that a game with such beautiful graphics and combat effects would come down to more than grinding and the so-so pvp. Much too expensive, and if you complained about 1 for amazing graphics Much too expensive, and if you complained about subscription fees from games by Blizzard, your going to be blowing arteries at this pricey junk.
Graphically this game is a treat, performance is good, gameplay is more immediate, challenging and visually rewarding than most. For me, having sucked every last bit of joy out of my favourite MMO and not considering going back until the next big expansion a year or so from now Aion has proved a godsend. Not without it's faults, but then there are not enough of those to prevent me from enjoying this more than I've enjoyed any of the alternative MMOs I've tried in the last few years. I give this game a ten, Why?
I closed beta tested this , then open beta, and now enjoying the live game immensely. Graphics scale well ona basic maching and still look great, they also look out of this world I give this game a ten, Why? Graphics scale well ona basic maching and still look great, they also look out of this world on a high end machine. Its Charming , exciting, complex and thoroughly enjoyable. Great graphics but Grind Grind Grind.
Aion however fails to captivate once the visuals have impressed. Im a huge anti Grind. So sorry NCsoft, I'm going to have to give this a miss. The combat system is very refreshing with the combo system, but it is a very well polished game, it does what WoW did on release, generally fuse the best aspects of the various games on the market and add a little polish. The combat system is very refreshing with the combo system, but unlike warhammer, has a very feel for the animations.
This is an absolutely gorgeous game for a MMOrpg and one of the most addictive games you could ever get your hands on. No grinding what so ever. If you consider doing quests, grinding, MMO is not your game.
Unless you played WoW and was influenced by how easy it is to level up. I've gotten to level 20, and think it's worth checking out if you're already a bit jaded with your current MMO. Jury still out on whether the focus on in-world pvp is better than focusing on battlegrounds, but Aion pvp is supposed I've gotten to level 20, and think it's worth checking out if you're already a bit jaded with your current MMO.
Jury still out on whether the focus on in-world pvp is better than focusing on battlegrounds, but Aion pvp is supposed to be pretty good according to the high levels. Visuals are stunning and definitely make it a must-play game. Player advancement Ok, but new skills not available at every level. Some quests not possible to complete without a team.
A few quests encountered that were buggy. Personal store interesting concept but not sure about viability. I played this game during the "head start" week and I preordered this game, there were little to no queues at this time, hoever as the week progressed the queues grew and grew up to the retail release where they ballooned at hours.
So you come home from work, join the queue, get in the game 4 hours later and log off to goto sleep as its by now really late. Awesome huh! Well the I played this game during the "head start" week and I preordered this game, there were little to no queues at this time, hoever as the week progressed the queues grew and grew up to the retail release where they ballooned at hours.
Well the "support" and I use the term in the loosest sense of the word, suggested to play at a different time of the day instead. Seriously that was their answer. Well after 2 weeks of hour queues every day, I had enough, cancelled my account, and requested a refund under the Sales and Supply of Goods Act During my brief time in the game, every 10 minutes you get spammed by gold selling bots, and you cant create a ticket about them out of hours This MMO is a joke steer clear.
People, it all depends on how you play the game, I suppose. I did the quests one after another until now, I have played 3 characters, one to 16, one to 14, and one to True, this game is not like World of Warcraft in the way that you cant just drop any quest you want and go find a lot more elsewhere, but there are few quests in this game that you would want to drop, and none that you People, it all depends on how you play the game, I suppose. True, this game is not like World of Warcraft in the way that you cant just drop any quest you want and go find a lot more elsewhere, but there are few quests in this game that you would want to drop, and none that you would have to.
I like the character customization system because its much unlike Guild Wars. In Guild Wars, another NCsoft game, you couldn't customize much. You pick a preset hair color, preset face, preset skin color, and choose a very limited height. This game's customization system provides almost limitless possibilities, from 1 foot tall characters with giant heads, or a medium sized person with a regular sized head.
You can change your face like the Oblivion face modifier, where you can change almost anything on the face. This game has amazing graphics. Somebody said that the graphics were just a bunch of solidly colored, stretched textures.
My question to him is if he was playing the right game To be fair, this game does have a few glitches and not a big variety in armor and weapons, but it will provide you with a lot of fun. Speaking of glitches, just to show you what I mean, there is one glitch where you can fly down under the main city if you go down just a certain way.
The funny thing is, though it is really messed up, terrible graphics, 2D objects, and so on, they actually meant for someone to figure out how to go down there. If you look at this one structure at a certain angle, the face from Saw looks at your character and instantly kills you.
They even put towns down under the city which at first I thought was just for somebody in the flying city to see, but when you get down there the insides of the buildings are actually fully designed and painted. The wings bring a delightfulness to the game too, but the problem is that there is few places you can fly. However, anywhere in the game you can 'glide' which is just a quick way to move downhill and on flat ground very quickly, and it adds a really fun aspect to the game, not to mention the air to air combat and pvp.
I switched from World of Warcraft to Aion, and I will say it was definately the right choice, and I would encourage others to do the seem thing. Aion is a great game and well rounded. It seems that people think MMO's need to be fully finished when they first release. WoW has been around a long time and is entering yet another exp.
Aion has little to offer in the endgame, but only after you play it can you see that it has so much room to grown into something that will make it Aion is a great game and well rounded. Aion has little to offer in the endgame, but only after you play it can you see that it has so much room to grown into something that will make it a monster of a MMO.
I still have high hopes Aion will trun into something unstopable. One of the best character creation there is around, interesting options for weapons like the ability to take the stats from a good weapon and place them on a better looking one , flying ability is not new but its interesting, good character class choices Best healer class i ever played on a MMORPG. Same quests over and over? Aion has bad PvP? Moneysellers, a lot. Dont WoW have those too?
Gets somehow boring overtime? Bottomline, Aion is an overall good game. If you play Aion as Aion, you will surelly like it, if you start thinking too much about flaws, and end up comparing it to every other MMORPG there is, you will utterly end up anoyed and bored.
Want complications? This is the best, period. Make sure ur comp is up to par with its graphics, cpu, ram, etc. This game is very fun at first. The combat is soothing and the graphics are incredible! Kills this collect that, Kill of these things to get 1 drop ect ect.
But it gets worse folks. After that annoying grind you get to run ALL the way back to base to turn in the quests. Wait, did you say use your mount? Well you have NONE! No Mounts in the game! Thats right 1 minute of flight time and you think flying is cool? Well sorry! Oh wait you can increase your flight time with enchants, new items ect?
Well by the time to get those items or a high enough level you will be so sick of all the boring grinding you will be balled. Since patch 3. Graphically, using the cryengine, things are stunning. The PVP is extremely enjoyable. Still a bit "grindy", but overall very impressive. Worth taking a look. Aion is a beautiful game, with excellent graphics and gorgeous enviroments. NCsoft's support is fast and reliable, and will address most issues in little to no time.
However, the Community Managers those who rely information to NCsoft have done a Aion is a beautiful game, with excellent graphics and gorgeous enviroments. However, the Community Managers those who rely information to NCsoft have done a terrible job, turning a great concept into a horrible mess.
Faction imbalance affects every single server on existence and they have done little to fix this issue, which has lead many players to leave. Currently character creation is open for both factions, and still the majority of new players chose the dominating faction. Nevertheless, being on the "dominated" side, Aion brings challenge on certain moments such as PvP instances where differences based on numbers do little.
Aion might not suit you, but it's a nice game and worth trying. Please note that English is not my primary language. Aion is a excellent game, but the western staff has done everything to kill the western playerbase. I've been playing this game for over 3 years, and I've been banned a total of 3 times. Players tend to report others simply because they got killed on PvP. The support staff is incompetent, often they refuse to give answers or reasons as why players get banned and they simply ignore Aion is a excellent game, but the western staff has done everything to kill the western playerbase.
The support staff is incompetent, often they refuse to give answers or reasons as why players get banned and they simply ignore evidence. Currently the game has no active Community Managers, they got fired since the Seattle Offices were closed, leaving the players clueless about updates and events.
Superb game with a ridiculously evocative world and engaging content. The PvE and PvP is just plain fun. The only criticisms I have are: the world isn't quite open enough, you're unable to use wings in many of the pre-level 25 zones, and the experience earned from quests needs to be increased.
Graphically-speaking, nothing else can match the beauty of this game compared to any other MMO. The effects and detail are astounding I say this after patch 2. Gameplay-wise, it falls in to some If you're the type of MMO gamer that enjoyed Lineage 2 or any number of other traditional Korean MMOs, then this is the next step up.
Gameplay-wise, it falls in to some common ground with too many other MMOs in delivering very uninspired quests and backstory. The good thing is there is enough detail given to other mechanics in the game that the detail of some of the content doesn't matter as much as how much fun you have just playing your character and exploring the world.
It's definitely not for everyone in this regard. In particular for me, combat felt a lot slower then I expected until you gain enough skills to be firing off constant combo moves improves after level It's also a very linear leveling experience due to a lot of restrictions in place with where you can go and how long you can fly if at all.
The mechanics for flight are a fun distraction to me, although often times you'll be restricted to 'gliding' instead. All in all, it's well worth a try and available with a free trial.
Quite a fun MMO up till about level People in the game are also a bunch of jackasses, there are no helpful people in the game thats if you can find them. I simply love it.
If you like Grinding, this is the game for you. I have played many MMO's and many of them did one particular thing better than the others. Aion online does nothing better than any other MMO I've played. To all those people giving this game great reviews: If you like this game then there are other games you would absolutely love a whole lot more On the downside though you are unable to trade while on the free to play which can be frustrating when your trying to help out a friend and also you are unable to speak in the world channel.
I highly recommend this to people who are unable to play certain games because of there PC limitations … Expand. Alterar idioma. Instale o Steam. TehGre Ver perfil Ver mensagens.
Hello, I remember playing Aion a long time ago on the NA publisher's service. I've been thinking of trying the game again and I see that we will have the version published in EU by Gameforge on Steam.
Can anyone of the current players, or someone that is well informed, let me us know what the difference between the NA and EU publishers currently is? I know that Gameforge is pretty much a money-hungry company. I played their version of Elsword for a long time but it wasn't that terribly bad, at least compared to the NA one.
I remember Aion being heavily restricted with a bad cash shop and so on, in EU Gameforge , which made me run away and I went playing on the NA version.
Is it still the same and in what kind of situation is the game? I look forward to your answers and thank you in advance. Regards, TehGre. Galletah Ver perfil Ver mensagens. Selenn Ver perfil Ver mensagens. This thread seems to have been heavily moderated what else would you expect from GF, lol , but I'll give it a try. Both are bad. But if I were to compare how enjoyable Aion once was to how it is now, well, the difference is quite significant.
These changes happened to most MMO's in different ways, but Aion used to be a very hard game. But hard didn't have the same meaning as it has now, to get a Legendary Transformation now is hard, but it's hard in a bad way. The difficulty Aion once had was enjoyable and rewarding, when you got that e30 set after weeks of grinding lower abyss guards, that felt amazing.
Or when you completed the Fenris quest and got your lvl 50 PVE gear. You felt like a God. You felt rewarded, achieved. The game was very pure. It's obvious the change started in 3. Aion as it is now is an entirely different game than how I remember it. And unfortunately due to Gameforge always pushing the boundaries granted, I cannot blame them.
It's NcSoft who made the game have this direction the game now has a very bad reputation. Unfortunately we cannot rewind time. But what can be done is opening a new server in a decent patch, I would say 2.
But that's obviously not enough and I know why people are so against this idea.
